This art lesson was inspired by the this beautiful story retold by Allen Sockabasin of the Passamaquoddy Nation. He shares his childhood memory of the story the importance of giving thanks and respecting all creatures. Read about Zoo Sap, a toddler who finds himself in a desperate situation as he travels with his family to their winter camp. They prepare with layers of warm clothing and huddle together for the journey. After many hours everyone is sleeping but their father and Zoo Sap, he needs to get them to the camp and travels through the night. When they arrive, someone is missing! Can you guess? Children can use this wonderful story to create their own Warhol inspired art using animals that help us.
